The most formidable tandem in Southern
Wrestling headlines the special card at the
YMCA Thursday night April 24 when George
Becker and Johnny Weaver place their belts
on the line against Ole and Gene Anderson.
Becker and Weaver who have won National
acclaim through their many appearances
have commanded the Rebel heavyweight
team ranks for more than a year. Both
possess skill and speed and are veterans of
their trade.
The Anderson brothers are ex-football
players and are more sizable than the
Champions. They use their size and weight
to wear down their opponents.
Also appearing on the program will be Abe
Jacobs and Sailor Art Thomas who will meet
Bulldog Lee Henning and Rock Hunter. Two
women wrestlers mix in the special event
feature, Penny Banner will tangle with
Tammy Jones. The opener will pit Les Wolfe
against Jim Grabmire.
The matches, sponsored by the Northern
Surry Heart Fund is scheduled to get
underway at 8 o'clock.
Tickets may be obtained from various
sponsors in and around the county.
