At the TV taping in Charlotte, NC on
Wednesday October 25 1967, Johnny
Weaver defeated the Missouri Mauler for the
Southern Heavyweight Championship in a
two out of three fall match. This took place at
the WBTV Channel 3 Studio.
Johnny Weaver won the first fall and the
Missouri Mauler won the second. During the
third fall the Mauler threw Johnny Weaver out
of the ring. When Johnny climbed back up on
to the apron the Mauler turned him around to
give him a sledge hammer blow across the
chest. Instead Johnny Weaver reached up
and grabbed Mauler and flipped himself over
the ropes, crashing down on top of the
Mauler for the win.
