WRESTLING MEMORIES
Wrestling Memories Tribute to George South
For over twenty-three years now George South has wrestled them all from the great Lou Thesz, the Original
Sheik, and the one and only Nature Boy Ric Flair. George has always been a great enhancement talent who
always did his job well and was very unselfish when it came to doing what was best for the business. Today
he continues to carry on the tradition of "old school" wrestling whether training young people who are trying
to break into the business or working matches every weekend at independent shows.
My dad and I have gotten to know George personally over the past five months through our good friend Dick
Bourne from the
Mid-Atlantic Gateway. We have witnessed some of the best matches we have seen in many
years between George South and Brad Armstrong. George continues to amaze us each time with his many
tributes to the stars of the past. These include: Brute Bernard, George "Two Ton" Harris, Wahoo McDaniel,
Blackjack Mulligan, Paul Jones, Ricky Steamboat, Dick Murdock, and just last week he surprised us with Tully
Blanchard's Slingshot Suplex. From time to time he also gets slammed from the top rope in the same fashion
as Ric Flair. Most of the photo's you will see here are from George's own personal collection the rest are
photo's that we have taken recently at the Lenoir and Statesville, NC shows.

George never ceases to amaze us at all these shows we attend. He gives his all while in or outside of the ring. He puts the fans
interests first while still putting on a wrestling clinic inside that squared circle. If you are a fan of wrestling the way it is supposed
to be then you should definitely try to see George South when he comes to a town near you. I promise you that you will get your
money's worth. Thanks for helping keep those memories alive George. We here at Wrestling Memories love you!
